Brooklyn Shanti Unveils His Heartfelt Odyssey via Latest Album, "Crystal Ball"

Pre-save "Crystal Ball" Here
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Acclaimed Bengali-American artist renowned for his ability to seamlessly fuse musical genres, Brooklyn Shanti, is set to release his eagerly anticipated album, "Crystal Ball," on October 6, 2023. This remarkable album takes listeners on a deeply personal journey through the artist's tumultuous life experiences over the past year and a half.

"Crystal Ball" opens with "The Empath," a hauntingly introspective track that is based upon a recording of a real-life tarot card reading that Brooklyn Shanti received while his mother had fallen into a coma. From the opening moment, the emotional depth of this album becomes apparent as it navigates through Shanti's profound losses—both the departure of his partner and the heartbreaking loss of his mother. The reading is almost like a prompt to prepare the listener for what they are to encounter on this expedition of a human's soul through music. Songs like "Real Ones," "Take it All Away," "Breathing Under Water," and "Tryin" serve as emotional markers in this poignant journey, illustrating a downward spiral of loss and introspection.

The album takes a captivating instrumental turn, a testament to Shanti's ability to convey raw emotion through music when words fall short. As Shanti has noted, "Words couldn't convey my grief, so I continued on by making beats." The final three tracks, "Rosa," "Sara," and "Crystal Ball," stand as beautiful dedications to the loves he lost, culminating in a spoken word piece delivered by Kevin Montgomery atop the album’s title track, "Crystal Ball."

To celebrate the album's release, a video for "Take it All Away" shot and directed by Michelle "Shellshott" Honeycutt will be unveiled during the week of the album's launch.

"Crystal Ball" is an intimate exploration of life's unpredictable twists and turns, dutifully and dilligently expressed through music. Brooklyn Shanti invites his audience to join him on this emotional excursion, which is a poignant reminder that even in the face of profound loss, art for both the creator and the observer, can be used as a medium to heal and transform.
